River Currents is a 70 page literary and art journal produced annually for Illinois Valley Community College (IVCC), to showcase student work. The cover was created in Photoshop from 22 images. The electrical current theme was chosen as a "play on words" and descriptions were used throughout the book. InDesign was used for its layout.
GAERF -Graphic Arts Education Resource Foundation held a contest called: Why Hire Me. Designers were to create a Self-Promotional poster.
My personal motto is: Creative Spark + Technique = Visual Combustion and the spark plug was the perfect image to portray this. I researched the history of the spark plug and discovered that current spark plugs are made out of Titanium and/or use Laser technology.
I likened the evolution of the spark plug, to my own as a Graphic Artist; I began as a Technical Illustrator, am a Fine Artist and have recently updated my skills and education using Illustrator, Photoshop, and Digital Photography, all represented in the spark plug types shown in my design.
The Clay Extruder and Fimo Clay were created in Illustrator
while looking at the actual item.
